FHPC CROSS COUNTRY

COURSE CLOSED

4th JULY - 8th AUGUST

ImagePLEASE NOTE: Our Cross Country Course is Closed from 4th July until the 8th August for maintenance and the mandatory closing time before the Zone 23 event.
Any member seen using the course risks elimination from the Zone 23 ODE.

So little daylight and so much happening - getting enough riding in is certainly the trick in these cooler months! And with the weather hitting the single figures for most mornings and evenings, it does not REALLY make you want to leap out and go for a ride.

In the last couple of months we have had Zone Showjumping at Ryde, State Equitation at Worrigee, Horsemanship at Forest Hills, a couple of Rally Days to practice Dressage and Cross Country, Zone 26 Mounted Games Championships, Closed Dressage and Metropolitan Cup. No wonder we all feel tired! Reports on all of these are below,

ImageOur last 2 Rally Days have really been concentrated on Dressage and Cross Country Jumping and all the members have had a great time learning how to approach and deal with some of the more difficult jumps on a Cross Country course. I am excited to see a renewed interest in One Day Events in Forest Hills with many of our members now competing both around Pony Club ODE's and NSW Eventing ODE's. Eventing is the only discipline where there MUST be at least one outside performance from an open/non Pony Club  course (eg: SIEC Silver Hills, Camden, Berrima etc) if you wish to apply for the State event.

Our next Rally Day is not until after the school holidays on the 1st August. We will be working on riding to time, Dressage and showjumping for the Zone 23 ODE on the 8th August.

As FHPC will be running the Zone 23 ODE on the 8th August, every child who enters MUST HAVE A PARENT AVAILABLE TO WORK ON THE DAY. You will be rostered on to a morning duty AND an afternoon duty. This is a HUGE DAY starting at 7.30am and we will need workers there from 6.30am for parking, registration, marshalling, canteen etc. The entry form will come out this week and there will be limited numbers so enter quickly or you may miss out.
